This recipe utilises Mackerile as the base ingredient - One of the best fatty fish for canines. Mackerel provides the vital nutrients for your pup's skin and coat to combat, prevent and soothe itching, dullness and dandruff. For added protein and palatability we have included raw chicken. Please note: We also have a Chicken Free version of this recipe available for our canine guests with severe chicken allergies. This recipe is well-balanced for both the amount of meat and vegetables, and also contains extra taurine to help aid in dogs with some taurine deficiency.

Nutrient breakdown

Mackerel: This recipe contains the heart of Mackerel, an oily fish that is a great source of protein and omega fatty acids EPA & DHA, along with vitamins D & B12, selenium, potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium, phosphorus and taurine. Mackerel is good for your pup's muscles, blood and coat and has anti-inflammatory properties to help relieve pain and swelling in joints. Also supports brain, nerve and heart health. We have made a deliberate choice to lead with Mackerel as it is one of the most nutrient dense of meats and provides a host of benefits for the body including building bone and immunity as well as preserving eyesight.

Chicken Breast: Rich is protein and low in fat, Chicken Breast is a great source of amino acids and healthy fats. This makes it perfect for building muscle, healing, maintaining a strong and healthy immune system and healthy digestion. It is also packed with calcium, phosphorus and magnesium to support strong healthy bones and joints. We add raw Chicken Breast to our diet for its high protein content and great taste! We also have a special batch made for the dogs that can't have breast meat.

Carrots: Carrots are Brilliant for your dog's vision and eye health and contain a host of other vitamins and minerals including: Vitamins A & K, B6, potassium, calcium, iron and fibre. Dogs find carrots very palatable due to their natural sweetness and they are a great overall nutritional supplement for dogs.

Green Beans: These nuts and seeds provide protein, calcium, iron and tons of vitamins including A, B6, C and K! Additionally, they contain a ton of fiber and are very low in calories, making them perfect for my weight management plan. They also keep my digestive system healthy!

Pumpkin: Pumpkin is also an excellent source of fibre and vitamins A, C and E, as well as iron and potassium, meaning it can help promote healthy digestion and boost your immune system. We like to use pumpkin in lots of recipes as we believe that your gut is the base of your health and it is one of the best natural ingredients to look after your gut!

Sweet Potato: Slow digesting carbohydrate, easily digested by your dog. Rich in fibre as well as many other vitamins and minerals. Containing beta-carotene, vitamin C, potassium, iron and manganese. Sweet potato is a fantastic natural antioxidant. Having a low glycemic index the energy is released slowly, this means that your dog will have long lasting energy without any sudden spikes. We have chosen to use this instead of grains.

Flax Seeds: flaxseeds are Antioxiadants and anti-inflammanories that are a natural source of plant protein, fibre, fatty acids and lignans for your dog. Small but powerful, these tiny seeds work in your dog's body every day from the inside out.

Olive Oil: Olive oil is a clean source of healthy fats and fatty acids. Olive oil is a rich source of vitamins E and K and is a natural antioxidant. As with all of our recipes it supports healthy heart function and healthy skin and coat. We have chosen to utilise olive oil in our Mackerel & Pumpkin recipe as it is particularly complementary to the flavour of the mackerel and adds a further boost of nutrition to the recipe.

Calcium: Calcium is essential for the growth and maintenance of healthy bones and teeth. It is also a must for blood coagulation, nerve function, muscle contraction and healthy vision. So, calcium is a vital ingredient in every Taffuzo serving.

Taurine: This recipe includes taurine, an essential amino acid that plays a role in healthy heart function, vision, immune system function and nerve function. Many fish based dog foods have been found to be deficient in taurine. We have made sure to include adequate levels in this recipe.
